Piko Program
Our Piko program increases access, respect, cultural competency, education and choice in reproductive health. In 2024 and 2025, we bring Piko 2.0 to communities facing poverty, racism and lack of access in perinatal health care. Our five person team includes midwives, doulas, healers, educators and artists. Within the container of a three day workshop we distribute prenatal self care kits, along with hands-on skills training and practice. In addition, intuition, ceremony, intergenerational healing, mindfulness, creativity and storytelling practices are employed to support birthing people in identifying what makes them feel safe and ensuring that they have access to it throughout their childbearing journey. We continue to provide on-going solidarity and support through our online community.
History of the Piko Program
In 2020 the Piko program mobilized to distribute sterilized prenatal care kits to the doorsteps of pregnant people in Hawai’i during the COVID 19 pandemic. We also provided an instructional video, zoom classes and access to midwifery support and childbirth education.
